| Cheryl Hoyt has been painting in watercolor since 1993. In the winter of 1986, Cheryl's life changed dramatically when she contracted pneumococcal pneuomnia. Subsequently, she had to have amputations of her arms and legs. With the loss of all four limbs, she was no longer able to earn a living as she had in the past. Following extensive physical therapy, Cheryl began to rebuild her life. She saw art instructor on T.V. that said "Anyone can learn to paint". She sent her daughter to the store for watercolor paints and the rest is history. Outside of attending various workshops facilitated by Louisiana artists, Cherylis a self-taught artist. Her work has been exhibite all over the state of Louisiana. Cheryl's determination, courage and trust in the Lord, in pursuit of her craft, are a tremendous inspiration to all who know her. |
